The Best Class C RVs for 2027
The Class C motorhome is the versatile middle of the RV world: more living space than a camper van, easier to drive than a bus-style Class A. For 2027 the Jayco and Entegra Coach lineups sort into three lanes, family coaches, compact coaches and Super Cs, with one new Jayco line and a reorganized Entegra Coach lineup. Here is how the 2027 Class C lineup shakes out and how to pick the right one.
The Best Class C RVs for 2027
The Class C motorhome is the middle of the RV world: more room than a Class B camper van, easier to drive than a bus-style Class A, recognizable by the cab-over area above the driver's seat and built on a truck or van chassis that drives more like a big pickup than a bus.
This guide walks through the 2027 Class C motorhomes from Jayco and Entegra Coach in three groups, based on how people actually shop: family coaches on cutaway truck chassis, compact coaches for couples and the Super C tier for buyers who want to tow, travel full time or both. Every spec below comes from the manufacturers' 2027 model pages as of this writing. Confirm the specifics of any floorplan with a dealer before you buy, because equipment varies by floorplan and options change during a model year.
What Changed for 2027
Two changes are verifiable on the manufacturers' 2027 pages and worth knowing before you compare coaches.
Jayco's Super C tier gained a line. The new Greyhawk XL joins the Seneca XT on Ford's F-550 and F-600 4x4 chassis with a 6.7L Power Stroke diesel, giving buyers a heavy-duty four-wheel-drive Class C below the Freightliner-based Seneca. Entegra Coach lists five Super C lines for 2027: the Ford-based Esteem XL and Accolade XT, the Freightliner S2RV Plus-based Accolade and Accolade XL and the Freightliner Cascadia-based Centurion.
Entegra Coach reorganized. The Esteem is now the Esteem XL, a Super C on Ford F-550 and F-600 4x4 chassis, and the Class C side is the Odyssey, Odyssey SE, Qwest, Qwest SE and Condor.
Beyond those two, the 2027 pages document the current state of each line rather than what changed: the Redhawk SE is offered on Chevrolet 4500, Ford E-350 and Ford E-450 chassis, the Granite Ridge is offered on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 AWD and Ford Transit 350HD AWD platforms and Firefly Multiplex coach control appears on selected models including the Greyhawk XL, Seneca XT, Granite Ridge, Qwest, Esteem XL, Accolade and Accolade XT, while the Greyhawk uses a BMPRO system.
Best for Family Adventures
For families a motorhome is a rolling basecamp, and the features that matter are practical: flexible sleeping, durable construction, a real kitchen and a dinette that doubles as the game table. Most of the family-oriented Class C coaches here use Ford E-series cutaway chassis; the Redhawk SE and Odyssey SE also offer Chevrolet configurations.
Jayco Redhawk and Redhawk SE
The Redhawk is the quintessential family Class C: a Ford E-450 chassis rated at 14,500 pounds GVWR, a 7.3L V8 producing 325 horsepower and 450 lb-ft through a 6-speed TorqShift transmission and a 7,500-pound hitch. The overhead bunk is rated at 750 pounds and comes with a safety net, which Jayco describes as 300 pounds more than the industry standard, so it works as a real bed for two adults or as gear storage. Construction is Jayco's StrongholdVBL vacuum-bonded roof, floor and sidewalls with a one-piece seamless fiberglass front cap. The JRide package, which is standard, bundles a computer-balanced driveshaft, front and rear stabilizer bars, Hellwig helper springs and rubber isolation body mounts to settle the ride. A 4,000-watt generator is standard, backup and side-view cameras are standard and a 200-watt solar panel with a second house battery is optional.
The Redhawk SE is the entry point and comes with a chassis decision: smaller floorplans ride on a Chevrolet 4500 with a 6.6L Vortec V8 rated at 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft or on a Ford E-350, while the 29KF and 31FF use the Ford E-450. Hitch capacity is 5,000 pounds, and the 750-pound bunk, 4,000-watt generator and optional 200-watt solar carry over.
Jayco Greyhawk and Greyhawk XL
The Greyhawk is the upgraded family coach on the same Ford E-450 platform. JRide Plus adds Koni FSD shocks and a heavy-duty rear stabilizer bar to the JRide package, the 200-watt solar panel and the 4,000-watt generator with auto-gen start are standard and a BMPRO total coach control system with a wall touchscreen and mobile app manages the house systems. The 750-pound bunk and the one-piece front cap with a panoramic power-shaded window carry over.
New for 2027, the Greyhawk XL moves the Greyhawk name onto a Ford F-550 4x4 chassis on the 32U floorplan and a Ford F-600 4x4 on the 33F, with a 6.7L Power Stroke V8 turbodiesel producing 330 horsepower and 950 lb-ft of torque through a 10-speed automatic. GVWR is 19,500 pounds on the 32U and 22,000 on the 33F, hitch capacity is 12,000 pounds with an integrated trailer brake controller and the house side gets a 6,000-watt diesel generator with auto-gen start, a 2,000-watt inverter, 200 watts of solar and Firefly Multiplex control.
Entegra Coach Odyssey and Odyssey SE
Entegra Coach's family Class C is the Odyssey: seven floorplans from the compact 24B to the bunk-ready 31F, 26 feet 8 inches to 32 feet 7 inches long, sleeping up to seven, on a Ford cab chassis with E-Z Drive components, a computer-balanced driveshaft and stabilizer bars.
The Odyssey SE offers eleven floorplans across Ford E-350, Ford E-450 and Chevrolet chassis, from 21 feet 11 inches to 32 feet 7 inches, with queen-bed, convertible-twin and bunk-friendly layouts.
Best for Couples and Compact Luxury
Couples, remote workers and small groups tend to trade sleeping capacity for maneuverability and finish. Among the Sprinter-based coaches in this group, the Mercedes-Benz chassis brings a 2.0L four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel rated at 211 horsepower and 332 lb-ft with a 9-speed automatic and a 5,000-pound hitch; Mercedes-Benz driver-assistance content varies by chassis year and should be confirmed on the unit you are considering. The Granite Ridge and the Condor also offer Ford Transit AWD platforms. Shorter overall length is the common thread, and it pays off on mountain roads, in town and at campgrounds with length limits.
Jayco Melbourne and Melbourne Prestige
The Melbourne is the entry to diesel Class C ownership: a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 chassis with a 170-inch wheelbase rated at 11,030 pounds GVWR, with 25L and 25R floorplans that keep the coach to roughly 25 to 26 feet. A 7-inch MBUX infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, backup and side-view cameras and seatbelts in all designated seating positions are standard, and a 4,000-watt LP generator handles power with a 200-watt solar package on the options list.
The Melbourne Prestige steps up to the Mercedes-Benz 4500 chassis, rated at 12,125 pounds GVWR with a 280-amp alternator, and dresses it in Sikkens full-body paint. Inside are a 10.25-inch MBUX screen, power heated leatherette swivel seats, Lippert frameless bonded windows and a Truma Combi D diesel water heater and furnace, with a 200-watt solar panel and two 12-volt house batteries standard.
Entegra Coach Qwest and Qwest SE
The Qwest is Entegra Coach's compact luxury coach on the Mercedes-Benz 4500 chassis. Three floorplans share a 26-foot length and a 96-inch width and sleep up to five: the 25L with a king bed and legless dinette table, the 25R with a power Murphy bed and the 25M as a third layout. Sikkens full-body paint and Firefly Multiplex control are part of the package, and an 80-inch ceiling height keeps a small coach from feeling small. The Qwest SE is a distinct 25-foot, two-floorplan coach on the Mercedes-Benz 3500 chassis.
Entegra Coach Condor
The 2027 Condor is the compact Class C in this lineup: 23 feet 5 inches to 24 feet 8 inches long, 85 inches wide and sleeping two, for people who would otherwise be shopping camper vans but want a Class C cabin.
Jayco Granite Ridge
The Granite Ridge is the adventure couple's coach and is built on two all-wheel-drive platforms. The 22T rides on a Ford Transit 350HD AWD chassis with a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 rated at 310 horsepower and 400 lb-ft through a 10-speed, while the 23S uses a Mercedes-Benz 3500 AWD chassis with the 211-horsepower diesel. Both list a heated rear garage, L-track tie-downs, charging ports and dual-pane acrylic windows. The 23S also lists Molle panels, a roof rack, a collapsible exterior ladder, standard Starlink and a 2,500-watt LP generator with auto-gen start. The 22T lists a 3.9-kWh lithium battery, a 2,000-watt inverter, 360 watts of solar, a 2,800-watt gas generator with auto-gen start and optional Starlink. Firefly Multiplex and a Timberline hydronic heating system manage the cabin.
Best for Power, Towing and Full-Time Potential
The Super C is where Class C convenience meets Class A muscle. These coaches ride on medium-duty and heavy-duty truck chassis, the Ford F-550 and F-600 4x4, the Freightliner S2RV Plus and the Freightliner Cascadia among them. Towing is the reason many buyers come here. Receiver ratings vary by model: the Seneca, Seneca XT, Greyhawk XL and Accolade list 12,000-pound hitches, while the Centurion lists 20,000 pounds. A receiver rating is not the coach's allowable trailer weight; confirm the exact unit's GCWR, its actual loaded weight, the receiver rating and the tongue-weight limit before you plan a tow.
Jayco Seneca, Seneca Prestige and Seneca XT
The Seneca is the Freightliner Super C. Its S2RV Plus chassis is rated at 31,000 pounds GVWR and 43,000 pounds GCWR, powered by a Cummins ISB 6.7L diesel producing 360 horsepower and 800 lb-ft through an Allison 3000 MH transmission with an engine exhaust brake, and it carries 100 gallons of fuel. Standard equipment includes an Onan 8,000-watt Quiet Diesel generator with auto-gen start, four 6-volt AGM house batteries, a 2,000-watt pure sine wave inverter, 200 watts of solar, 50-amp service, hydraulic leveling, a residential refrigerator and Sikkens full-body paint, across the 37K, 37L and 37M floorplans.
The Seneca Prestige is the luxury expression of that platform. It adds an Aqua-Hot 250D hydronic system for continuous hot water and quiet, even heat, matte-finish woodgrain porcelain tile with a heated floor mat, a roof-mounted Girard patio awning, dual 15,000 BTU air conditioners with a heat pump, a 5,000 BTU electric fireplace, a Thetford Sani-Con macerator system, dual-pane safety-glass windows and full air brakes with SACHS shocks.
The Seneca XT brings the Seneca name to a Ford F-600 4x4 chassis rated at 22,000 pounds GVWR and 34,000 GCWR, with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel at 330 horsepower and 950 lb-ft, a 12,000-pound hitch with an integrated trailer brake controller, a 7,000-watt diesel generator, 400 watts of solar, a 2,000-watt inverter and Starlink satellite internet on the standard equipment list.
Entegra Coach Esteem XL and Accolade XT
Entegra Coach's Ford-based Super Cs are the Esteem XL and the Accolade XT. The Esteem XL uses a Ford F-550 4x4 on its 30M and 32U floorplans and a Ford F-600 4x4 on the family-focused 33F, runs 33 feet 5 inches to 34 feet 11 inches and sleeps up to seven, with the 33F's bunks rated at 300 pounds each. Its E-Z Drive Elite package adds a computer-balanced driveshaft with heavy-duty rear and standard front stabilizer bars, and Firefly Multiplex control sits under an 84-inch ceiling. The Accolade XT also spans Ford F-550 and F-600 4x4 chassis, from 29 feet 10 inches to 37 feet 3 inches, sleeps up to five and is finished in full-body paint.
Entegra Coach Accolade and Centurion
The Accolade is the cornerstone Freightliner Super C in Entegra Coach's lineup, built on the S2RV Plus foundation from 34 feet 2 inches to 39 feet 4 inches with sleeping for up to eight. Its 12,000-pound hitch is rated for 1,200 pounds of tongue weight, the E-Z Drive Premier package includes SACHS shocks and the three floorplans each have a signature: the 37K supports a stackable washer and dryer, the 37L has dedicated bunks and the 37M has standard power theater seating. The Accolade XL extends the line.
Above it sits the Centurion, a diesel Super C flagship on Freightliner Cascadia chassis with a 20,000-pound hitch receiver. The 39N and 39K pair a Cascadia 116 day cab with Detroit DD13 power, while the 45D moves up to a Cascadia 126 and a Detroit DD16, at lengths from 42 feet to 45 feet 10 inches.
Which Class C Is Right for You?
Three questions sort most shoppers. How many people sleep aboard? If four or more, start with the family coaches or the bunk-equipped Super Cs. Where do you want to park? For national park loops, city streets or tight forest roads, start with the shorter Sprinter- and Transit-based coaches. What are you towing? If towing is central to how you travel, the Super C tier carries the highest receiver ratings, and the specific floorplan's GCWR, actual loaded weight, receiver rating and tongue-weight limit together constrain what it can tow.
Browse the Class C motorhomes overview, then take the Class C finder quiz, which matches your travel style to specific 2027 floorplans. If you are still deciding between motorhome types, the motorhome buying guide compares Class A, B and C side by side, and the 2027 new-model roundup covers what changed across the wider RV market this year.
Still Shopping a 2026 Class C?
Some dealers may still have 2026 inventory, and availability and pricing vary by location. The 2027 pages are the current specification source, so when you compare a 2026 unit to its 2027 successor, check the specific items below against the unit in front of you rather than assuming they match.
A 2026 Redhawk or Redhawk SE: confirm the chassis, hitch rating, overhead-bunk rating and fitted JRide components on the exact unit.
A 2026 Greyhawk: confirm whether the coach has JRide Plus with Koni FSD shocks, whether the 200-watt solar panel and auto-gen-start generator are fitted and which coach-control system it uses. There was no Greyhawk XL in 2026.
A 2026 Esteem: verify the exact unit's chassis, ratings and equipment. The current 2027 lineup instead lists the Odyssey and Odyssey SE under Class C and the Esteem XL under Super C.
A 2026 Seneca: confirm the Freightliner S2RV Plus chassis ratings, the Cummins engine output, the generator, the inverter and the hitch rating against the 2027 page, and whether the unit is a Seneca, Seneca Prestige or Seneca XT.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the main advantages of a Class C RV? Living space and amenities without Class A length, on a truck or van chassis that feels natural to drive. The cab-over can add sleeping or storage space, and the chassis range, from a Ford E-350 to a Freightliner Cascadia, stretches the category from a compact couple's coach to a full-time home that tows.
What is the difference between a Class C and a Super C? The chassis. A standard Class C is built on a cutaway van or light-duty truck chassis such as the Ford E-450 or the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. A Super C is built on a medium-duty or heavy-duty truck chassis such as the Ford F-550 and F-600 or the Freightliner S2RV Plus, which brings more horsepower and torque, larger tanks and storage bays and higher hitch receiver ratings, 12,000 pounds on most of the 2027 Super Cs covered here and 20,000 on the Centurion.
How much can a Class C motorhome tow? It depends on the model. The Redhawk, Greyhawk and Odyssey list 7,500-pound hitches. The Redhawk SE and Odyssey SE list 5,000-pound hitches across their Ford and Chevrolet configurations. Mercedes-Benz Sprinter coaches such as the Melbourne list 5,000 pounds. The 2027 Seneca, Seneca XT, Greyhawk XL and Accolade list 12,000-pound hitch receivers and the Centurion lists 20,000 pounds. A receiver rating is not your allowable trailer weight: confirm the specific floorplan's GCWR, its loaded weight, the receiver rating and the tongue-weight limit before you tow anything.
What is new in 2027 Class C motorhomes? Two verified lineup changes: Jayco's new Greyhawk XL heavy-duty 4x4 line and Entegra Coach's move from the Esteem Class C to the Esteem XL Super C. The current 2027 pages also list three chassis choices on the Redhawk SE and two AWD platforms on the Granite Ridge.
What should I look for in a family-friendly Class C floorplan? Prioritize sleeping capacity with dedicated bunks, a large cab-over bunk and a convertible dinette or sofa, then check that every designated seating position has a seatbelt. Look for accessible storage, durable easy-clean surfaces and a kitchen that can actually produce a family dinner. The Jayco Redhawk SE 31FF, the Greyhawk XL 33F, the Entegra Coach Odyssey 31F and the Esteem XL 33F are the bunk floorplans in this guide.
Are gas or diesel Class C RVs better? Neither is better in the abstract. The 2027 lineups pair Ford's 7.3L gas V8 with E-series chassis and Chevrolet's 6.6L gas V8 with Chevrolet 4500 chassis, and diesels, the Mercedes-Benz 2.0L in the Sprinter coaches, the Ford 6.7L Power Stroke in the F-series Super Cs and the Cummins 6.7L in the Freightliner Senecas, with their respective platforms. Compare the exact chassis, GVWR, GCWR, payload, hitch limits, service access and purchase price for each floorplan you are considering.
How do JRide and E-Z Drive work? They are ride and handling packages, not single components. Jayco's JRide combines a computer-balanced driveshaft, front and rear stabilizer bars, Hellwig helper springs and rubber isolation body mounts; JRide Plus on the Greyhawk adds Koni FSD shocks and a heavy-duty rear stabilizer bar. Entegra Coach's E-Z Drive uses a computer-balanced driveshaft and stabilizer bars, with E-Z Drive Elite adding a heavy-duty rear bar on the Esteem XL and E-Z Drive Premier adding SACHS shocks on the Freightliner-based Accolade. The manufacturers position these packages as ride-and-handling aids; how much difference you feel depends on the coach, the load and the road.
From the family-ready Redhawk to the Freightliner-based Seneca Prestige, the 2027 Class C lineup spans family, compact and heavy-duty uses. Take the Class C quiz to narrow it to a floorplan, then find your local dealer and see it in person.
