Best Motorhomes of 2027: Complete Buying Guide
Motorhomes come in three classes and choosing between them matters more than choosing between two models within a class. This guide compares Class A, Class B and Class C for 2027, walks through the Jayco and Entegra Coach lineups in each and points you to the right class guide and finder quiz for the next step.
Best Motorhomes of 2027: Complete Buying Guide
Every motorhome is one of three things: a Class A built on a bare heavy-duty chassis with the body constructed around it, a Class B built inside a production van or a Class C built on a cutaway truck or van chassis with the living space behind the cab. That first choice sets the range of lengths, floorplans and chassis you will be shopping. Pick the class first and the model shopping gets much easier.
This guide compares the three classes for 2027 and summarizes the Jayco and Entegra Coach lineups in each, using the manufacturers' 2027 model pages as of this writing. For broader buying context by class, see our Class A, Class B and Class C guides and the Class A, Class B and Class C overviews. Confirm equipment on the specific unit, because it varies by floorplan and options change during a model year.

Class A Motorhomes for 2027
A Class A is the bus-shaped motorhome, built on a bare chassis rather than inside a van. In the 2027 lineups covered here it spans 29 feet 11 inches to 38 feet 10 inches and the Jayco Precept lines list sleeping for up to nine.
Jayco's four 2027 Class A lines and Entegra Coach's Vision and Emblem all list the Ford F53 chassis with a 7.3L V8 rated at 335 horsepower and 468 lb-ft through a 6-speed TorqShift automatic and a 5,000-pound hitch receiver; Entegra Coach's Vision SE and Vision XL are listed by name and their specifications were not captured here. Entegra Coach lists its Anthem, Aspire, Cornerstone and Cornerstone Reserve diesel coaches as 2026 previous-model-year products, so its 2027 Class A lineup is its gas lineup.
Jayco Alante, Alante SE, Precept and Precept Prestige
The Alante and Alante SE are Jayco's compact Class As on an 18,000-pound-GVWR F53 chassis. The Alante carries a 7,000-watt generator, two 6-volt AGM house batteries, 50-amp service, a 1,200-watt inverter, 200 watts of solar, TuffShell vacuum-bonded laminated construction, a 120-inch panoramic windshield and JRide, which bundles a computer-balanced driveshaft, a Bilstein steering stabilizer, jounce bumpers, heavy-duty front and rear stabilizer bars and SACHS shocks. The Alante SE is the simpler version: a 4,000-watt generator, 30-amp service, a single 12-volt house battery with solar prep and the same windshield and JRide package.
The Precept steps up to a 22,000- or 24,000-pound GVWR depending on floorplan, and to JRide Plus, which adds a Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer, Koni FSD shocks, variable-rate jounce bumpers and 22.5-inch Michelin tires. A 7,000-watt generator with auto-gen start, hydraulic leveling, a tankless water heater, a 1,200-watt inverter, 200 watts of solar and Firefly Multiplex coach control are standard, the larger floorplans carry two 30,000 BTU furnaces and a 750-pound drop-down cab bunk and a washer and dryer are optional. The Precept Prestige is the luxury version on the 24,000-pound chassis with a 2,000-watt inverter, an electric fireplace, vinyl plank flooring and soft-close cabinetry.
Entegra Coach Vision, Vision SE, Vision XL and Emblem
Entegra Coach's 2027 Class As are the Vision family and the Emblem. The Vision runs 29 feet 11 inches to 32 feet 2 inches on the 18,000-pound F53, sleeps up to seven across the 27A with a king bed, the 29F with bunks rated at 300 pounds each and the 29S, and carries hydraulic leveling and E-Z Drive, a computer-balanced driveshaft, Bilstein steering stabilizer, heavy-duty stabilizer bars, jounce bumpers and SACHS shocks. The Vision SE and Vision XL extend the family. The Emblem is the larger coach: 38 feet 1 inch to 38 feet 8 inches on the 24,000-pound F53, sleeping up to eight across three floorplans, with E-Z Drive Elite, hydraulic leveling and four exterior paint options.
For broader Class A buying context, see our Class A guide and the Class A overview.
Class B Motorhomes for 2027
A Class B is a production van with a kitchen, bed and bathroom built inside it. Class B lengths here run from 17 feet 10 inches to 24 feet 5 inches, so parking fit and everyday usability vary by model. The trade is space: the vans here list sleeping for two or three, or up to four on the Swift with its optional pop-top.
For 2027 Jayco builds four Class B lines, the Comet and Swift on RAM ProMaster chassis, the Solstice on a Ford Transit AWD 350HD and the Terrain on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 AWD, and Entegra Coach builds five, the Arc and Ethos on ProMaster, the Expanse on Transit AWD and the Insignia and Launch on Sprinter AWD. Lengths run from 17 feet 10 inches on the Comet and Arc to 24 feet 5 inches on the Insignia. Lithium power is a floorplan-level choice on the Terrain and Launch, with a Victron inverter and a 48-volt smart alternator on the lithium floorplans and AGM batteries with a generator and propane on the others, and the Ethos offers a lithium package that makes it propane-free. Hitch receivers are listed at 3,500 pounds on the ProMaster vans and 5,000 pounds on the Sprinter vans; the Transit vans' pages do not list a rating.
Our Class B guide and the Class B overview cover the vans in more depth.
Class C and Super C Motorhomes for 2027
A Class C is built on a cutaway chassis with the living space behind and above the cab, which is where the cab-over bunk comes from. The covered Class C lineups span compact cutaway coaches through medium- and heavy-duty Super Cs, from 21 feet 11 inches to 45 feet 10 inches.
For 2027 Jayco builds the Redhawk, Redhawk SE, Greyhawk, Melbourne, Melbourne Prestige and Granite Ridge on the Class C side and the Greyhawk XL, Seneca, Seneca Prestige and Seneca XT on the Super C side. Entegra Coach builds the Odyssey, Odyssey SE, Qwest, Qwest SE and Condor as Class Cs and the Esteem XL, Accolade, Accolade XL, Accolade XT and Centurion as Super Cs. The chassis range is the widest of the three classes: Ford E-350 and E-450 and Chevrolet 4500 cutaways for the family coaches, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Ford Transit AWD for the compact and all-wheel-drive coaches and Ford F-550 and F-600 4x4, Freightliner S2RV Plus and Freightliner Cascadia for the Super Cs. Listed receiver ratings include 5,000 pounds on every Redhawk SE floorplan and on the Melbourne, Melbourne Prestige, Qwest and Qwest SE, 7,500 pounds on the Redhawk and Greyhawk, 12,000 pounds on the Seneca, Seneca XT, Greyhawk XL and Accolade and 20,000 pounds on the Centurion.
Our Class C guide and the Class C overview cover every 2027 line in all three groups.

What Changed for 2027
Three lineup changes are verifiable on the 2027 pages. Jayco added the Greyhawk XL, a Super C on Ford F-550 and F-600 4x4 chassis. Entegra Coach moved the Esteem from its Class C lineup to the Super C tier as the Esteem XL. And Entegra Coach's 2027 Class A lineup is gas only, with the Anthem, Aspire, Cornerstone and Cornerstone Reserve listed as 2026 previous-model-year coaches. Beyond those, the 2027 pages document current configurations rather than changes: three chassis choices on the Jayco Redhawk SE, two all-wheel-drive platforms on the Granite Ridge and lithium-or-AGM floorplan choices on the Terrain and Launch. Features Worth Comparing Across Classes
Coach control systems. Firefly Multiplex appears on the Jayco Precept, Precept Prestige, Greyhawk XL, Seneca XT and Granite Ridge and on the Entegra Coach Qwest, Esteem XL, Accolade, Accolade XT, Ethos, Expanse and Insignia; Entegra Coach describes it as centralizing lighting, climate and tank monitoring on a touchscreen and mobile app. The Greyhawk lists a BMPRO total coach control system with a wall-mounted touchscreen and mobile app.
Power. Equipment varies by model. The Alante SE lists a 12-volt house battery with solar prep; the Alante, Precept, Greyhawk and Seneca list a generator, an inverter and a 200-watt solar panel; the Granite Ridge 22T lists 360 watts of solar and a 3.9-kWh lithium battery; the Seneca XT lists 400 watts; and the Terrain's lithium floorplans list a 48-volt lithium battery with a 3,000-watt Victron inverter in place of the generator supplied on its AGM floorplans.
All-wheel and four-wheel drive. Available on the Sprinter- and Transit-based Class Bs, on the Granite Ridge in Class C and on every Ford F-550 and F-600 Super C. Not offered on the F53 Class As.
Hitch receivers. Listed ratings run 3,500 pounds on ProMaster vans, 5,000 on Sprinter vans, on Jayco's four Class A lines and Entegra Coach's Vision and Emblem, on every Redhawk SE floorplan and on the Melbourne, Melbourne Prestige, Qwest and Qwest SE, 7,500 on the Redhawk and Greyhawk, 12,000 on several Super Cs and 20,000 on the Centurion. A receiver rating is not allowable trailer weight; actual towing depends on GCWR, the loaded weight of the coach and the tongue-weight limit of the specific unit.
Ride and handling packages. Depending on model, Jayco's JRide and JRide Plus and Entegra Coach's E-Z Drive, E-Z Drive Elite and E-Z Drive Premier may include driveshaft balancing, stabilizer bars, steering stabilizers, helper springs or upgraded shocks; on the Solstice, for example, JRide is Hellwig helper springs. The manufacturers position them as ride-and-handling aids; the components fitted to each model are listed on its page.
Which Motorhome Type Is Right for You?
If bare-chassis construction and sleeping for up to nine on a 30-to-39-foot coach matter most, start in Class A. If the shortest lengths and a production-van chassis matter most, start in Class B, keeping in mind that its lengths run from 17 feet 10 inches to 24 feet 5 inches. If you want the widest range of chassis, lengths and floorplans, or the highest listed hitch receiver ratings, start in Class C and look at the Super Cs.
The RV finder quiz helps narrow the available classes and floorplans by your travel style, and each class has its own quiz once you have narrowed the field.
